MATTERS ARISING
·Website
A few interested committees in the village attended the meeting. Cllr McEwan gave an overview of what our ideas were.Should be up and running in a few months.Cllr McEwan is currently looking in to what would be the best system to use and is open to suggestions for what could go on to the site.Suggested that there could be a “What’s on” section of events and a diary that could be added to.There could also be a business directory for businesses in the area.Any interested committees/groups can get in touch with Cllr McEwan who is happy to help set up their sections.
·School Playing Field
At the last meeting the school are going to look at the plans that have been drawn up for the multi-sports pitch.School suggested changing one of the playing sheds into changing facilities.Agreed that is too early for a public meeting until plans etc have been agreed with the school and the council.
·Information Board
Copies of the photos taken of the information board in Langholm were shown to the Institute committee members who attended.Discussed our thoughts from the last meeting, and the Institute committee were positive about our ideas. Not yet heard from Guy Campbell.ACTION:Secretary to contact Guy Campbell.
·KCC Newsletter
Cllr Hanson has begun making a draft of the newsletter to be issued to all households in the area.Agreed that this would be complete by the next meeting for approval and issue.Agreed that the AGM will take place on 22 May 2007 and this will be advertised in the newsletter along with the dates for
nomination forms.
·Trees Alongside Graveyard in Morebattle
Chairman has discussed this with the council.Jason Hedley made a site visit but the council does not feel that they are a problem. He would be willing to make another visit and meet someone if felt this was still a problem.Next step would then be for KCC to contact the owner of the trees with our concerns.
·Camera Club
There was a good response to the idea of a camera club.Agreed to provisionally arrange a meeting for 21 March in the Institute at 7pm to discuss the club and how to progress.
