MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING

The minutes of the previous meeting on 19 February 2008 having been circulated were passed as a true record of events by Cllr Mabon and seconded by Cllr Jackson and signed by the Chairman.

MATTERS ARISING

·Proposed Whitton Wind Farm

A scoping report from Amec was received that gave details on many aspects of the proposed wind farm at Whitton.This report was forwarded to KCC from Clare Malster at SBC but KCC is unsure if they are meant to have seen the report.After some discussion the main concerns regarding the wind farm are with the noise, affect on the birds and the disruption they will cause to the people living closest to it.ACTION:Chairman to check with Clare Malster if it is ok to respond to this report, if so the main points of the discussion will be submitted.

·Kelso Medical Practice – Surgeries In Morebattle To Close

Chairman had contacted Irene Morris about the transport issue from the last meeting.He was assured that the transport provided would be free of charge.There have been discussions with the GP’s in Kelso but the outcome of this is unknown as yet.

·Information Board

Cllr McEwan is unable to take the project any further due to work commitments.Cllr Scott agreed to help take the project further.

·School Playing Field

A meeting has been organised to try and push things along.Drawings for the field have been received and these will be discussed at the meeting.The account has been created and money transferred from the KCC account to the playing field account.

·Trees at Morebattle’s Graveyard

Simon Wilkinson has been off sick so Cllr Cessford has been unable to get any further information.

Response to be sent regarding the report previously sent regarding the proposed changes to the school day. KCC comments are affects on childcare provision and think that every parent should be notified of these proposals by SBC.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS

Footpath from Teapot St to the school is littered with rubbish from the builders building the houses in this area.All objectors to the buildings were informed that the footpath would be upgraded before the houses were completed and occupied but there is now a house for sale and the path has not been upgraded.Cllr Jackson to contact the planning department at SBC to find out what can be done.

Cllr Blackmore suggested that a sign is erected to let walkers know that you can get to Jubilee Bridge from Teapot Street as there are signs erected at Morebattle Tofts.Also, there is no sign at Jubilee Bridge to say its name.Cllr Blackmore to contact Euan Calvert at SBC to discuss.

There is a large hole appearing at the corner before Caverton Mains road end.Contact SB Local to find out if this can be filled in.

Secretary and Treasurer positions will need to be filled.Discuss in further details at next meeting.
