·Kelso Medical Practice – Surgeries In Morebattle To Close
Rosemary Woodcock and Irene Morris have sent a list of points with actions.Comments for the consultation are now to be received by the end of January.Three people have joined the surgery action group. They have compiled a survey (available in the shop) to find out whether people would be willing to travel to Yetholm if a surgery was kept open there.Seems to be confusion with the survey as believe that people are not signing it as they think that this is the only option available.May also have to approach SBC to find out what transport could be provided and how often it would take people to Kelso. What can KCC do now?A letter could be sent to the surgery with a draft report and it was also suggested that a letter could be sent to Nicola Sturgeon MSP.

Tesco – Notice of their 4 day public exhibition at the Cross Keys in Kelso regarding the proposed supermarket site.Exhibition: 16 Jan 10am-6pm, 17 Jan 10am-8pm, 18 Jan 10am-6pm, 19 Jan 9am – 6pm.
Cllr Mabon wrote to John Dellow at SBC to complain that on 20 December 2007 the Munros service 81 buses were not on time in a 2 week period.A reply was received from Mr Dellow who advised that if there had not been any improvement that he should be contacted again. He suggested that they may have been late due to road conditions but it is felt that the roads are not a problem, it is a problem with the service. The children going to the school in Kelso are now being made late which gets unfairly marked on their records. The Chairman has also complained about the service as the drivers had informed him that it had been due to frozen buses!ACTION:Chairman will write to SBC, Munros and First Bus to complain.
Cllr Blackmore commented on the problem with the congestion of cars parked at the top of the village. It is now becoming difficult to see from the junction at Mainsfield Ave.Is it possible to make a bus stop to stop people parking here? This could perhaps be an option once the new footpath has been made. However this may not be a problem that could be solved (Cllr Nicol’s advice) although if there is a problem with the white lines on the road, this could be looked at by the roads department.
