·Kelso Medical Practice – Surgeries In Morebattle To Close
A letter was received from Kelso Medical Practice with their proposal to end surgeries in Morebattle and Yetholm.Kelso have written to Dr Ross Cameron at NHS Borders with their proposal to end the surgeries due to the unsatisfactory room at the school.A 3 month consultation period will be carried out.Michael Moore MP and John Lamont MSP are both already looking into the case.It was agreed that a public meeting would have to be arranged and would hopefully be attended by both the MP and MSP and a representative from Kelso Medical Practice. It was suggested that we should request figures from the Health Centre to establish how well the surgery is used in Morebattle.ACTION: Chairman and Cllr McEwan will organise the public meeting and reply to the Health Centre.
·Website
The site is up and running but no groups have approached Cllr McEwan as yet. There is a poster in the shop but if anyone thinks that their group could benefit from the website, get in touch.Spread the word!
·Information Board
Rory McDonald the archaeologist at SBC has facts that could be used for the board.Signworks in Coldstream have sent a brochure for 3ftx2ft signs which would be roughly £750 excluding the artworks.Rough estimated costs at the moment are around £3000 total. The printing of the leaflets however should not be too expensive and it was thought that it would be better for businesses to advertise on the leaflet and then if any details had to be changed, the leaflet would be easier to update. It was suggested that perhaps Ian Douglas could do the stonework for the sign but firstly will have to find out if planning permission is required before approaching anyone.
·School Playing Field
No updates at present.
